I’m Chamutal Zerem Castel, a casting director with over a decade of experience in the film and television industry. I began my career as a script supervisor and found my true calling in casting while working on my first film – “Next to Her”. Since then, I’ve cast a wide range of projects, including the films “Mary”, “Close to Me”, “Karaoke”, the TV series “Bad Boy”, “Indal”, and more.
To me, the role of a casting director is to help directors tell their story with the most fitting actors – to turn an artistic vision into reality. I make sure to thoroughly understand the requirements of each role and select the actors who can bring out the full potential of each character.
I’ve been nominated for 4 Israeli Academy Awards in the Casting category, I am a member of both the American and Israeli Film Academies, leads on-camera acting workshops and hosts the podcast “The Casting Directors”.
I believe that the right casting is 90% of telling a story in the best way possible, and that’s what drives me in every project – turning every cinematic vision into a complete and unforgettable experience.
